CARBS AND FAKE WEIGHT GAIN
Thought I would share a short story on one of my clients I trained today. Basically I have been with her for a couple of years working on trying to change a mentality of a life time. I see her a couple of times a week and she is about 15 stone overweight.
Over the years we have made efforts to change eating habits. This is sustained for months and then usually external stresses cause crashes causing binges for say a week and which sometimes comes with nearly a stone weight gain.
A week ago she told me she wants to go back on lighter life. Because she said she can lose 3 stone quickly on this. I asked a few more questions and it was simply the thought of eating food and cooking food, creating new ideas for snacks that were stressing her out along with work stresses. Years before coming to me she had lost 10 stone in a year doing a 600 kcal diet with them only to put that weight back on a year later and more. So at all costs I wanted to avoid this!!
I advised we do slighter life. Sams version of lighter life!
So she is now focusing on eating 3 healthy meals a day with no other food allowed keeping it basic, chicken and veg etc. On lighter life it would be some powdery soup, a serial bar or two and that’s your lot, so at least she is eating healthy food and can stop having to think about snacks in between because she ain’t allowed them (except for the odd apple).
So she started this last Thursday. I weighed her on Sunday as her weight had still creeped up I weighed her again today to find her losing 10lb in 3 days!!!!
And that’s kind of the end of my story, be carful of the scales and how much carbs allow your weight to balloon up for a short space of time often via water being held in the body.
Beware of diets like lighter life because one day your gunna eat real food and it could spin you the hell out just the thought of controlling this.
Try to just eat healthy cut out the crap, limit the carbs, exercise, you will lose weight!
